Half Marathon and Other Thoughts
Hi friends. It is my hope that throughout the next few months, we can generate some traffic back to this site. It has been down for a few weeks, undergoing a change in servers, and now it is back!
I am also back with some news: Jonathan and some friends of ours are running a half marathon here in California this weekend to raise money for the Rick Pearson Memorial Fund. If you think about it, please pray for them as they run.
We are also about to send out letters to businesses encouraging year end giving to the fund, since we are using all the funds to reach $30,000 to be able to build a Child Survival Project through Compassion International. We are almost halfway there, which is awesome, but we are still praying for the full amount by the end of the year.
If any of you have thoughts about fundraisers, please feel free to share them with us, or encourage other members of your community or church to get involved to raise funds for this amazing cause. God has truly been working in our hearts in the area of giving... we are so blessed beyond measure in so many areas of our lives, and I am so grateful that, through the legacy of my brother, we are able to invest in the Kingdom of God for eternal Glory by giving of our time and our resources. There is such freedom in releasing our "stuff"... the things that seem to matter. But seeing the faces of the children in Africa being fed, or knowing that people are coming to faith in Christ for the first time because of our gifts- it's beautiful.
I hope that you all have a fantastic holiday season. Please continue to pray for our family as you think of it... it gets tough around this time, and your prayers are coveted.
