9/9/05 URGENT a.m.

Dear family,

We are certainly in the trenches. Rick has maintained a severely high temperature throughout the night, and his heart is working overtime... so much so that the doctors are needing us to make a decision about what they want us to do should his heart stop. PLEASE continue on your faces before God. I believe that every evil power is desperately trying to hang on, even if to claim a small victory in our minds. We are praying to and believing our strong Savior, Jesus Christ! We already have the victory. Pray that we stay reminded of this every second.

We are in a moment by moment situation. Please pray especially for Rick's doctor today, Dr. Solomon. Pray that God would put something in his heart that he doesn't understand... something that makes him want to keep persevering. Pray that God works a healing and restorative miracle in my sweet brother on the watch of Dr. Solomon!

Jesus, we do trust You! We don't know why this is happening, but we know that You love us and You are able! Keep Your angels encircling my brother, and keep us drawn close to You. We know You are getting Your Glory. I pray for even more to come to You through my brother being raised up from this illness. We are abiding in You, and Your words are abiding in us, Father! They are our food! So we ask of You for Your miracle, according to Your perfect will, and we wait expectantly for You to reveal Your Kingdom. We worship You, Lord.

I don't know what else to do, but I know that to worship Him is always the right thing. Please join me, as a choir across the globe, singing of the matchless worth of our Savior!

I was again woken up throughout the night praying for Rick and asking God to heal him. I am telling everyone I know to pray for Rick - even though none of us know you personally - we are joining with you before God. We love you.

I just got back from the Passion House meetings for community group leaders yesterday and was filled in by Louie and Shelly about all that is going on in your lives and with Rick. I've spent the last hour on this site. I'm speechless. Your faith in God at this time is truly amazing. I will be on my knees today praying for a miracle and worshipping with you.

As I post this I am listening and singing "Even When" I feel that song is so perfect right now. I am woshiping God even when I do not understand his plan (as in right now!) I do trust him and. I pray and actually beg God to heal Rick of this RIGHT NOW!

We continue to pray for you all in this time of need. Please know how much of an impact Rick has on the community of North Forsyth as well as the entire world. Being a teacher at NFHS, it amazes me how many students stop by my room on a regular basis to ask about the updates, to use the computers to look at the website and listen to Rick's song over and over again, and to simply pray for their friend. Please stay strong and know that we are behind you and love you very much. God bless.

Father, we thank you for the work you have done in Rick's life, and the way you have saved him and changed him so that even in this you have used him for your glory. Lord we confess that we know that either in his life or death you will be glorified... but we plead that your glory will shown in the way you heal him.... when no medical science could. Jesus, we plead and beg for your mercy on Rick's life... that in this moment his fever would begin to go down. We believe you for it. To YOUR name ALONE be glory and honor. Amen.

I just want to share a little story about my 8 year old with you that was a simple thing that touched me deeply. The other day she was spending the night at a friends house. We dropped her off and before we shut the door, even in all the excitement of spending the night and having fun, she yelled out.."Don't forget to pray for Rick" So not only are you in the hearts of those who understand, you are in the hearts of those who are still questioning everything ;)

We are all praying with you and for you right now. We are carrying Rick, through our prayers, when he is not able to run the race on his own. We will carry him all the way to the finish line, whatever finish line God has set for Rick to be at. Our praise to God will be the kiss on his cheek that makes him feel better, our cries will carry him, and he WILL win the race. I know this is a very critical time now but I think this story helps explain what the body of Christ is doing for Rick right now.

At the Seattle Special Olympics, nine contestants, all physically or mentally disabled, assembled at the starting line for the 100 yard dash. At the gun, they all started out with a relish to run the race to the finish and win. All, that is, except for the one little boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a couple of times, and began to cry. The other eight heard the boy cry. They slowed down and looked back. Then they all turned around and went back...EVERY one of them. One girl with Down's Syndrome bent down and kissed him and said, "This will make it better." Then all nine linked arms and walked together to the finish line. Everyone in the stadium stood and cheering went on for several minutes. What matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves. What matters is helping others win, even if it means slowing down and changing our course.

One of my favorite songs is "He Will Carry Me" by Mark Schultz: "Even though I'm walking through the valley of the shadow, I will hold tight to the hand of Him, His love will comfort me. And when all hope is gone and I've been wounded in the battle, He is all the strength that I will ever need. He will carry me! He will carry me! He will carry me!"

I am on my knees again for Rick and you all. I am praising our Heavenly Father for who He is and am begging Him for Rick's healing. He hears all of our cries!

May you continue to feel our Savior carrying you during this time and our Father holding you gently in His arms.

I woke up so early today and the moment I woke up I realized that I needed to stay awake and just seek be with Jesus, I flipped on my computer and went out to the balcony at Biola and looked into the sky and just began to break. I am hoping for the most today. I am hurting for you for sure and know that I love you so much and don't want to see your hurt anymore. I feel like I am five again and asking God to protect something. I want him to protect your brother and heal him. I am so thankful for knowing you. This situation has brought me so much closer to God. I am blessed to know and humbled to be apart of your and Jonathan's life. Again and again I will say this, thank you. I know that your impact on my life is a porotion of the impact that Ricky has had on others life.
Someone asked me the other day what had changed about me. They told me that I seemed more love and more alive. I think that a lot of this has to do with the presence that you and Jonathan bring. I am beyond certain that Ricky's presence brings this to so many and more. Thank you for offering that to people Candi...

God I pray for Ricky right now. God PLEASE in the name of Jesus would you heal him? God we have questions that are uncertain and we want to understand, but we give them to you and we ask daddy that you would be glorified. Jesus thank you for Rick. I pray that your blood would sustain his heart Jesus. God I ask that you would let his fever go down and that you would give the doctors wisdom. Jesus put something on his heart like never before. Even as a student pastor I don't remember ever praying as fervently as I do now. You are constantly on my mind day and even night. I pray for the peace that can only come from the one who holds our future. Know you are wrapped in our prayers and always in the forefront of our minds.

We just want to hold you guys right now,but since we can't we have asked the LORD to do it. We are so sorry you are facing this and for so many days and weeks. Oh, Lord, THANK YOU THANK YOU for the faith of Candi, Suzanne, and all of Rick's family. It amazes me how they encourage the rest of us even as they struggle simply by trusting in You so completely. Lord, I join them in their prayers this morning for Rick's doctors and for the healing of his body. We know you are all-powerful, and we are anxious to see You work! Throughout the night, our Faithful God woke me up...reminding me of memories of your sweet son, brother, friend, fiance...of times that i was upset or just countnt seem to smile...and your Rick seemed to always be there...making me laugh...i remember Rick and Suzanne patiently teaching me how to play poker one night at rick and rodney's house..(suzanne a bit more patiently than Rick :) I am so happy that i am blessed to know Rick and I have not been able or wanted to get up off of my knees! We are all on our faces...be blessed, my brothers and sisters...for no matter what, we have the ultimate victory!

Sweet Pearson Family, Your family of song and music have brought Bob and I so much comfort in our journey with Christ. We are in prayer for all of you. You are aloways with us and like so many when I am wakened at night my heart and mind go right to Rick and my prayers begin. I pray right now for this Dr. Solomon,that even with a name such as his,that God would give him supernatural wisdom beyond the natural abilities. Father, You and only You know the answer to this riddle, but Lord even as You gave Daniel the wisdom and the ability to give answers, Lord I know You are able to do this for Rick. Even through Dr. Solomon. Precious Lord, please intervene on Rick's behalf. You can go where no other can go. Father, in Jesus'Name, speak Your life's breath into his brain. Give life to the reactors that are shut down. Cause his brain to fight against this fever in Jesus' Name! My heart is constantly crying out to God on your behalf! I am tripping over myself every morning to get to the computer for an update. The evidence of Rick's long reaching ministry is so obvious. As I read the words to these songs I can see him standing there at Mt Lake singing his heart out and you can tell by the look on his face how much he loves his Heavenly Father. He hears us singing with him but he doesn't really think about us being there because he is standing in the throne room of the only One who is worthy of our praise. He draws us into not just the songs but a state of worship, a place of awe and adoration for our Lord and we are changed in a moment. Not because of who Rick is but because he loves the LORD so completely. I believe with my whole heart that satan hates Rick and the incredible gift that God has given him and he wants him to remain silent. Unfortunately for him Our God will not be defeated!! Rick sings on in our hearts and our spirits and we will NOT stop praising OUR AWESOME FATHER with Rick leading the charge and we will shout to the heavens that OUR GOD is an AWESOME GOD!!
Please know that I never stop lifting up this sweet vessel that we know belongs to the One who made him. My four precious children and I lift him up throughout the day and into the night and we believe God for a miracle and yet I know we are all watching one unfold before our eyes. We love you all and will not stop Praising God with you!!

I played the "I Believe" CD on my way to work this morning and felt peaceful. Rick and family,you are amazing - prayers are directed towards the soothing of hearts as this day unfolds. God is with you, you can feel His presence all around. His love is pouring out and comforting you, He is holding Rick as He completes His Plan. Miracles do happen and faith in them is what we all have. May God bless each and every one of you today in His own way as this difficult time has come upon you. When you make the decision as to what to do, know that you have been guided towards it with so much love. As for Dr. Solomon, God will reach him and He will grant him wisdom to do and say the right things. This is my prayer today.

Our hearts break after reading this post, but yet we are filled with strength from your faith and love of the Lord you have shown since the beginning of this website. Rick has impacted our family’s life in so many ways…..our love of Mountain Lake is partly due to Rick's musical talent and beautiful voice. He has lived the example of how God wants us to live while we are on this Earth……we now need to follow his example.

Suz, Candi & family,

The doctors may not know what else to do for Rick but our Creator does. He alone is the author of our lives and knows the outcome of this great trial we are all sharing with you. I know that my God is in total control & trust that He will be gorified in all of this, He already is!!! I am on my knees before our Heavenly Father petioning for Ricky's complete recovery while at he same time praying for God's perfect will. Here is some scripture my Jesus showed me this a.m.

Ps. 33
1) Let the godly sing joy to the LORD, for it is fitting to praise Him.
2) Praise the LORD with melodies on the lyre; make music for Him on the ten-stringed harp.
3) Sing new songs of praise to Him;
play skillfully on the harp and sing with joy.

I am remimded to pray without ceasing every time I look at my braclet. Rick has been even more in the forefront of our hearts since last night. We agree with all that has been posted and offer our worship of our great God knowing that He is in complete control of the situation. His choosing is the path - even though we're not sure where it leads. Praise Him! The Almighty King!

Oh Great God hear our cry! Please heal Rick and bring him through this battle! We pray earnestly for complete restoration! We give you all the glory, Lord, no matter what happens!!

Dear Sweet Mom, Rick's Sisters, and dear Suzanne,

Alot of scriptures have been read, Godly counsel has been given, But the emptyness is huge! If there were no fear of God's judgement you would openly say that you are madd at God! Can I say that I am... I loved Rick, respected Rick and always looked forward to the times that I would see him when Gail and I would come to town. I like all of you "expected" God to heal Rick. God you have done it before, your word say's that you only do things to bring you glory, Candi you stated many of these things that have brought God glory through this, yet, no healing came. Every time I get madd at God, I tell him. God then proceeds to take me to the "wood shed" yet he usually gives me some thoughts as to why. Not always, and maybe they are not the reason, yet they are thoughts as I go through this spiritual confusion. Rick sang the song previously played on your web site - Even when I don't understand. Many of us say we love God, but seldom do we have to prove it. I believe God said to Rick and to all of us to PROVE IT! In the book of Matthew, James and John's mother ask Jesus to allow her son's to sit at his right and left, Jesus responed to her and them in Matthew 20:22, You don't know what you ask...It appears as though we did not know what we were asking. So I am confused as to what to ask for except for his comfort and grace as all of you go through this spiritual confusion. I know that in times like this in my past, when I have been madd at God, it sidelined me until I went to God and told him that I am madd and I needed a word from him! One word.... One ray of sunlight...given by God may sustain you till the next word or ray of sunlight. Gail and I have, and will continue to pray to God for all of you. We don"t pretend to know the pain that you are in right now. It is my hope that today I would be able to wrap my arms around each of you and tell you personally that I love you!
