1:20PM Update
Friends,
The doctors are currently doing surgery to insert a catheter and hopefully relieve the pressure and fluid on Rick's brain. They've already encountered some bleeding in the brain and are thinking that this may be why he is unresponsive. The doctor did not mince words about how life-threatening even the procedure itself is, but they feel they have no choice. Please continue to pray.

Dear Rick and Family,
We are so sorry to hear all the new turns that Rick has taken in the past 24 hours. We have been staying updated through our Youth Pastor(Wade Allen, CBC Church)and through the website. Please know that you are in our prayers, as well as in many of our friends that have never even met Rick. We know God is working through all of this to heal Rick and keep the family in His comforting arms at all times. We will continue to pray for Rick's healing and wait to hear updates as they are posted.
Rick has been an inspiration to so many in our Youth Group as we have traveled to Big Stuf each summer for many years. My daughters have a picture from 2 years ago at Big Stuf which Rick so kindly posed with them for. It is framed in their bedroom and they are reminded daily of Rick's need for prayers as they see it. Rick is a true hero in the work he has been doing all for the glory of God and his kingdom. We know that God is not finished with him yet and we will continue to pray for all of you.
In His Precious Name,

Dear Rick and family and friends - Prayers are being lifted up for you by so many that do not even know you. I feel very connected to this traumatic situation as I had leukemia years ago.
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neigher are your ways My ways, " declares the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8
It is so hard to understand, but He truly is in control. I will continue to intercede for each of you! shari

We prayed for peace, love, protection of angels and healing. We will continue to fight with you. May the peace of God guard your hearts and strength your bodies.

Ricky, Suzanne and Family,
I always wish that there was something that I could say...something that I could do to make everyone's worry...everyone's pain go away. There is, however, nothing in my power that can do that. The last half of James 5 verse 16 simply states, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." This verse explains that when righteous people make their requests fervently known to God through prayer that it will be effective. God will do as He wills, but there have been occasions where petitions have changed God's mind. Moses interceded for the Israelites as they wondered in the wilderness. God wanted to wipe them all out, but Moses pleaded with God, and He changed His mind. Abraham spoke with God in attempts to keep Him from destroying Sodom if only he could find a few righteous people...God would have saved the city as He told Abraham He would, but Abraham did not find those few people in the city. In the same opening of James, the inspired writer mentions Elijah's prayer for drought. God granted his request, and it did not rain for three years until Elijah prayed again for rain.
My point in all of this is that God listens to righteous prayers and takes action. There are many righteous people fervently praying for Ricky...We all pray that it avails much.
As I mentioned, there is nothing that I can say...But I know that something from His inspired word can bring comfort when nothing else can.
From things I’ve heard from you and read, all of you believe in the power of prayer. It helps at times to be reminded.
We have not stopped praying since we heard about Ricky, pleading that he gets better. May His will be done.
We love you, Ricky. Suzanne, you’re a wonderful person…and we love you too. I hope to know you better in the future. Elaine, Billy, and Big Sisters, we love you all too.

Our hearts go out to all of you in deepest love. As we pray we are reminded of Job 23..."Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him: But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold." Dear Rick,
We are praying for you and your family. The faith, strength, and positive attitude your family holds is truly inspiring! You are loved, not only by your biological family, but by your spiritual family too! God is your strength and he will never leave you. Our prayer is that God will heal your body and that He will be glorified through it all. God works for the good of those who love him, who have called according to his purpose Romans 8:28.
