8/31/05 PM Update
Friends,
Couple of things to add to the prayer list...Rick's heart rate is steady, for which we are grateful, however it is quite low at 40. The doctors would like to see it get to 80. Also, we want his white cell counts up significantly. Many of our prayers seem to be all about the numbers, but it is comforting to be able to pray so specifically! Bilirubin to 4, heart rate to 80!

PS Thanks for the updates Jeffery and Shannon. They are so appreciated.

Yes, it is nice to have something specific to pray for. We will continue to do so.
You can continue getting stronger, Rick. That is all I ask from you.
Family of Rick, keep up the good work, taking care of Rick.
I was speaking to a friend of mine today (she does not go to Mountain Lake) and she asked me about Rick. I was stunned at first but realized she is one of several thousand praying for Rick so I should not be surprised at all. It just goes to show you, us Christians stick together. Rick and family, know that there are so many people that have never even met you praying for you all. Keeping in touch through reading this site (thank you Shannon and Jeffrey so much) about someone they care for so strongly, but don't even know! WOW - God is good.
Prayers and love to you all, Robin Smith from MLC.

It's amazing to think that just a week before Rick entered the hospital, I spoke with him over the phone. It has been a rough journey for all invlolve, especially Rick's closest freinds and family. People all over the country have joined heart and are praying for healing and for God's will to be evoked on Rick's life. He is an amazing man of God and an inspiration to so many including my self. I continue to lift up prayers to our amazing God that he will send little Ricky back to us with even more strength than he had before his illness. God is working. He will continue to do so. With love to all involved in this battle.

Hi Rick and Family,
I and we are praying for your miracle for our Church.
This is one of my prayers:
God, so many times we don't see our own miracles or how you take care of us. I know you have answered many prayers even when I don't see it. Sometimes I pray about some things and to me are really Big and for some reason they don't get answered in my way. But it's not my way it's your way I know that.
So I am asking you God to show everyone Miracles Do Happen and I want everyone to see it through Rick. I want our Church to see this happen before our eyes. I want people that are tired be energized with your power by seeing Rick healed.
I want to see Rick standing back in front of our Church again with his great smile and beautiful voice. So God I believe and I know everyone does please show us your Power through Rick and heal him.
Give Rick strength and Ricks family strength to make it through and show them signs that it will happen.
In Jesus Name Amen...
That is one of my prayers...

Ricky is on my heart each and every day in prayer. Each day I give more people this site and ask for their prayers. What a remarkable family you are!
Today I was with one of God's prophets and, of course, I also gave her this site and told her all about Ricky. She felt so strongly that this situation is because God wants to hear the prayers of his people. I too believe that lives are being changed because of your amazing faithfulness and this website. When this hard time is over, I pray that you will consider printing all that has gone on these pages for others to hang onto in their trials and tough times.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for how many you are touching from this site.
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:l0)

Dear Rick...it's bedtime at the Rutledge house..we want to wish you sweet dreams tonight. We pray for your body and mind...we know that God can do great things! I cannot begin to tell you the number of people whose lives are being changed through all of this. I hope this can comfort your family in some way. We miss you...the team misses you...the body misses you.
Keep fighting Rick..we ARE with you!

Just wanted you to know that Rick continues to be lifted up in prayer at the EPBC prayer meeting tonight. You continue to be on everyone's heart.
I came across this verse which I hope will help you tonight as you rest in Him.
John 13:7 "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand."
There are no surprises with God, He is in full control.
I found this little poem which pretty much says how I feel:
Standing by
All the way
Here to help you throught your day,
Holding you up
When you are weak
helping you find what it is you seek
Catching your tears
When you cry
Pulling you through when the tide is high
Just being there
Through thick and thin
All just to say, you are my friend
You have many, many friends who I am sure feel this way. Be encouraged!
Love ya bunches,
Chris

Thank you so much for the updates. Though I don't know you all, you are ministering to me. I haven't felt such a burden for prayer in quite some time.
Lord, please heal this man and comfort his family as they adjust to Your timing. May Rick feel their love as he gains strength, and may they find an extra measure of Your peace and encouragement through each other. Please grant wisdom and clarity to the hospital staff. Thank you for the privilege of Your audience.
God bless you all.

Still praying and will add these new concerns to our list. I know you've heard us say this repeatedly - but we are very committed to seeing this bathed in prayer continuously. Our God is so very amazing indeed! We are blown away by his mighty hand!
Seth at bedtime asked God to "make Rick bedder and for his work to return." When I asked him what he meant - he said, "how big is Rick, Mama? He's bigger than me, right?" to which I replied, "Yes sweetie, he's a grown up like Daddy." He looked at me as if to say 'duh Mom' then said, "Yeah, he needs his work to return!"
So I therefore echo my sweet boy in his clarity! Yes, God, we need Rick to be able to see his work return! Give him strength, Lord - so that he may be able to return to his service for You!
4/80/Restoration!
We love you --
All of us - including Seth!

Father, we lift up Rick to you tonight. In the midst of such world tragedies it is easy to forget one man's battle for life. So in complete humility and trust in your ability to hear all of the cries to you, I pray that you would increase Rick's heartbeat to 80 and lower his Bilirubin to 4. I know that this is nothing for you to do as you are THE Creator of all that we are and hope to be. Your Power is infinite and as is your love for us, so in this hour I pray that my petition would be heard and in your perfect timing, be made manifest. Thank you gracious Father for this blessing and the many others I cannot begin to thank you for. You are worthy of my praises, honor and glory and I give them to you now and forever, Amen.

Dear All,
My prayers are with you always. At every break in the day, in the car, and especially at night.
Last night, as I prayed for Rick, I prayed also for his sweet mother, who I don't know in person but feel so connected to in spirit. One of my boys was sick with a childhood illness: fever, headace, pain. He came to me in the night and wanted me near him.
As parents, we do what we can. For Justin, it was tylenol, water, ice for his head, and me near. What he wanted most was me near.
You, as his mother, have remained near. You have remained consistant. You have remained strong. What a hero you are! I hope that as you sleep, you felt the strenth of prayer surrounding you and the comfort of our God pouring over you.
Our family continues to pray for yours. We believe in God sized miracles and thank Him for His grace and mercy day by day.
Jeff and Shannon, thank you for leading us in prayer for Rick and his family. You are very much appreciated.
In His Grip,
Edde

Heavenly Father, how I love you! I am thankful that you love your people as you do. I am thankful that you are a mighty God that hears our prayers. Lord today I lift up a person who has a heart that beats for you, a mouth that sings for you and a soul that is yours. That person is Rick Pearson. Lord I ask that you touch him today as only YOU can. Please bring all his numbers in line. Please be with those that are closest to him and hold them up. We stand with them. Lord, we love Rick and we love you!
In Jesus name I pray. Amen
Love to all of you!
In Him,
Pam

Our prayer is for a miracle. We are praying that the doctors will not be able to explain the incredible healing of Rick's body. We continue to trust God. We are thankful that our church and community have come together in support of Rick and his family and friends. It is incredible to see how God is being glorified and worshiped each day through the support of Rick. We look forward to the day that Rick is leading us at the church in worship and are thankful that he is still leading us in worship each day.
May God Bless you all.

I woke up this morning with the verse of Praise to The Lord, The Almighty running through my brain:
Praise to the Lord, who o're all things so wondrously reigneth
Shelters thee under His wing, yea so gently sustaineth
Hast thou not seen, how thou desires e'er have been?
Granted in what He ordaineth
Praise Him that he has proven Himself in the past and will always be a sovreign, almighty God and yet tenderly hide us under his wing and sustain our every breath!
John is working away from home this week and has called me for updates throughout the day. We are so connected during this time because of our glorious God whose Spirit unites us all. I hope you feel that so very clearly today. His promises are sure!
We love you and will continue to reamain steadfast!

Jonathan and Candi,
There is hardly a moment in the day that you are not in our thoughts and prayers. Christ is shining through you both in ways that are so beautiful, and yet often, so practical! As Paul said to Timothy "keep fighting the good fight".
Love you both.
Mom and Dad
Jeffrey and Shannon,
You guys are just the best! You are performing two very vital ministries - keeping the body updated on prayer needs for Rick and probably even more important, keeping our prayers, thoughts and comforts flowing to his family. Thanks so much for soldiering on despite sick babies and pressing schedules. We love you.
Billy, Elaine, Haley, Suzanne and Barbie,
Another day with more mercies. God is so good. You are all in our prayers throughout the day (and sometimes the night, too!) We are praying that you would not have to depend upon your own strength, peace, wisdom, hope, faith or resources because the Very God of strength, peace, wisdom, hope, faith and resources is your portion! We love you all.
Rick,
We're praying that your heart will speed up a little and your bilirubin will go down a lot!
When you wake up and can read this we just want you to know that you have been blessed with the most amazing family, fiance and future mom-in-law. We can't wait til there is another wedding in the family. We love you and we won't stop praying til you're in perfect health.

Hi Rick!
I'm Barbie's (Hardy)cousin from Virginia. My family, and the congregation at our church, has been praying for you since we first heard of your "bout" with cancer. I call it a bout because miracles have happened in the Steele family, as I'm sure Susanne has told you about her grandmother. We are praying for that same miracle for you.
We haven't met yet, but I have faith that we will!

I remember when my Grandaughter was in the hospital and we were constantly praying for the right numbers. God knows the formula for healing and He is working on it right this minute. Rick, your heart is strong and full of the Lord, it is just resting now because you know He is taking control. You have made many hearts beat stronger for God and opened some to receive Him. Feel the heartbeats from all over and know love is pouring into yours. I saw a quote I wanted to share with you:
"Large asking and large expectation on our part honor God." A.L. Stone
Continued prayer for all of you.
Love,
Elaine

I pray for all of you.....That God place his healing hands on Ricks brain and restore it to perfect capacity, that he heal his liver and get the levels down to 4, that he hold Ricks heart and make it beat faster. I selfishly pray that God give Rick back to us beacuse we still need him, he has touched so many and is not done with his work. I keep praying for a miracle for us all to witness as Rick walks back up on stage, guitar in hand......not a dry eye or non believer in the bunch.
I pray that God keep the family strong, in spirit, mind, and body.
I pray, i pray, i pray....
Thank you again for keeping us updated.

Rick, we are praying for you (and your family) throughout the day into the evening through the night. We claim in the name of "Jesus" your miraculous healing every time we say your name. We know that God is the healer and has performed many miracles. This is another miracle that we believe and already thank Him that He is going to perform for you. What you are going through will be just another part to add to your electrifying life that will somehow touch another person on down the road. It seems just like yesterday that you were running and playing in the church gym with the rest of the kids. You have grown up into an astonishing, onfire Christian young man with a bright future ahead including that fiancee. Just hold on and continue to be strong because you are in the best physician's hands that you could be in, God's. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Love and God Bless, Amanda, Chance and Chuck Thompson

I had a great dream last night with Rick in it. He was making all of us around him laugh, of course!
Just thinking of Rick's awesome humor and his smile brings joy!
So we wake and go to sleep with you, Rick, on our minds, in our hearts, and in our prayers.
God is good.
We love you Pearson family...and we continue to lift you all up in the middle of this battle.

To Rick and his family:
We are still constantly keeping you in our thoughts and in our prayers. Our Growth group kept you in our conversation all through the night of being together. You all are such a show of inspiration to us.
You wouldn't believe the number of people that I run into that when they find out I go to MLC; ask me about you Rick. I've been asked at the Middle school, at the gym, at the grocery store. It just goes on and on. Rick you continue to touch so many people. God does have a plan in all this, and I just keep remembering to turn to Him and pray for you.
We love you and miss you at MLC.

Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show his favor again? Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time? Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?" Then I thought, "To this I will appeal: the years of the right hand of the Most High." I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds. Your ways, O God, are holy. What god is so great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. Psalm 77:7-14
