8/29/05 Update

Friends,

Each day is a miracle! We are blessed to be able to share these requests with you and invite you to pray with us as we bring them before God. Rick continues to be stable. We are praying for marked improvement in his brain function. Rick's CAT scan yesterday was the best one so far. It would appear that most of the fluid has been relieved from his brain and there is no longer swelling. Praise the Lord! It also seems that his brain is in a position to begin to heal itself and this is our prayer! The doctors say that this next week is crucial. He has been taken off of all of the sedation medication completely and doctors need for him to begin responding. We want to pray for COMPLETE and TOTAL recovery for Rick's brain. We want the doctors to see dramatic and remarkable improvement over the next week. They will be very concerned about Rick's ability to function normally if significant improvement does not occur this week. Please make this your prayer! We want Rick whole and know that the God who formed and designed every corner of his brain is completely able to mend it. This is our prayer. Rick's liver continues to be a concern as his Bilirubin number are again at 26. The good thing is that his liver is still functioning and at this point, other vital organs have not been affected. Right now, Rick's brain has taken the forefront in concern and everything else is secondary to him being able to resume normal neurological function. We are asking that you come around these requests and interceed for Rick and ask that God repair and regenerate Rick's brain. We look forward to seeing what God has in store for this week! We are grateful to you...we cannot say it enough or overstate it. You truly are messengers of mercy from God. Let's go to war with these new requests on Rick's behalf!

I'm marching on in to battle for Rick!! Praise God for the CAT scan yesterday. I am continuing to believe God and I'm watching and waiting for this miracle that is happening even as we speak. I'm so excited to see what God is going to do this week in Rick's brain as we continue fighting for him through our prayers.
Sending much love and prayers your way...Shae

Rick and Family,

I am elated but not surprised by the progress report. We continue to intercede for Rick. God is your strongtower and refuge. May His light of truth continue to shine and encourage your heart as you sit with the patience that only God himself can give in a situation like this.

Continuing to lift Rick's condition up to a most mighty and powerful God. Trusting that He is more than able to exceedingly more than we could even think to ask...

1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

I am passionately praying for your recovery and for good test results. I wish we would have kept in touch through the years but I am happy to hear that you have enjoyed life and continued to love the lord throughout all of your battles. I wish you and your family the best.

Rick: You are constantly in our prayers as is your family. We will diligently pray for your brain function to be fully restored. We love you dearly and just know God is going to heal you so you can come back to Mountain Lake very soon. What an awesome God we serve.

Thank you Shannon and Jeff for your service to Rick's website. You are awesome and we are so grateful for your willingness to keep us updated. It means so much during this very difficult time.

We will keep praying and keep the faith.

Rick and family,

This is a battle that we will contiue to fight. Praise God for the CT scan results from yesterday. Praise God that His hand is on that liver and keeping functioning despite the bilirubin numbers. I stand with you in your prayers that God would heal Rick's brain COMPLETELY! I am praying for that bilirubin to GO WAY DOWN again too.

I am sure that much of the news coming from doctors is skeptical and may be "bad" at times but I have all the faith in the world that if it is GOD"S will for Rick to be healed that he will be healed COMPLETELY. The doctors have already said it would take a miracle to turn this situation around for Rick (8/25/05) and I for one believe in the ONE who can perform such a miracle.

I am praying for you today...all day!

Love to all of you!

Rick, I have consistantly been praying for complete healing. I truly believe that is God's Will, not just ours. Your continued fight and everyone's unfailing faith in Him will bring you through this. I will continue to pray for your complete recovery and look forward to hearing your voice minister to us all soon...Cheryl

I remembered this prayer from the 25th postings and thought under the circumstances this is perfect for us to pray as a family of believers again. So I hope it is okay with the one who lent the hand for God to use to pen this, to copy it for today as well. I belive it was signed "b". Thank you!
Rick,
i pray for you now as i cannot sleep. and if i may be kept up only to plead for the complete restoration of your health, then have all the hours of my night.

i pray now for the right side of your brain.
and the left side of your brain.
it's every corner and crevice and crack.
for the clearance of any cancer or any disease of any kind.
for the undoing of any damage that may have occurred thus far.
for complete and total healing that can only come by the Maker's touch & the Healer's intent.
for the restoration of all its activity and the continuance of its original design.

i pray now for your liver.
for the blood that flows through it & around it.
for its functionality and purpose to be restored as it was created to be.
for its life to be lengthened and strengthened.

i pray for your bones and organs and blood and tissue and muscles. for your follicles and pores and senses and skills and reflexes. for your cirulation and digestion and platelets and glands and senses.
i pray for all things basic. all things complex. and all things in between.
i pray for the riddance of any disease or condition of any sort. that anything unnatural will be removed and replaced with good things in order for your body to perform naturally.
i pray that your health will return to you in full measure, that your voice will ring across lands again, that your smile will light up your finance's eyes again, and that your lips will become a mouthpiece for the Lord to minister through (Jeremiah 15:19).

i pray now for your spirit.
that though you are physically unaware and medically sedated, your spirit is still alive and well.
that you are enjoying sweet communion with your Savior, the matchless & unbroken companionship(isaiah 3:18) with Him, and a love that nothing can ever separate you from, even death (romans 8:38,39).

i pray for your family and friends.
i pray that they will continue to be confident in the Lord, to know Him in new ways, to find joy amidst the suffering, to find comfort in His arms, to find healing for themselves inside their prayers for your healing.
i pray that your family and friends will hold onto only that which is constant & eternal.
i pray for rest- of their bodies and their souls. for peace of mind. for their own health. for blessed assurance in nothing less than Best. and that God would sustain them Himself in ways that are unexpressable and extremely personal.

i claim the healing that was prayed over you and believe in God alone for your life and health.

i pray that God would continue to use you in order to bring others to Him.
that God alone would be praised at good news or bad news.
that God alone will be trusted in.
that God alone will gain the glory that is due Him, no matter what circumstances unfold.
that the will and purpose of God alone will appear and prevail.
that the anthem of worship going on around the world to Him on your behalf will remain for years and decades and generations to come.
that His Name will continue to be called upon & required out of the right of our necessity.

Lord Jesus, i pray these things in Your Name.

Not surprised about CAT Scan being good. I know there are other areas of concern, but God is working on those too! I am standing on my belief that Rick will be healed in all areas. Just found out where to get the CD that has the song he recorded and have ordered several copies. Cannot wait to hear his voice again. This e-mail has lots of hugs for all of you and prayers.

Rick,

I know you can't read this right now, but I know you will soon. I want to thank you for something you have done for me and probably have no idea you did it. Some friends of ours talked my wife into going to Mountain Lake and me being the hard headed Catholic said no way I'm going there. Well my wife went a few times and said you'll love it there. She said there is this guy Rick who has an awesome voice and the band rocks. I'm thinking church that rocks.....no way. Well to make a long story short I decide to check Mountain Lake out and see what all the talk is about. Keep in mind I grew up Catholic and went to Catholic school most of my life, but I dropped out of church many many many years ago. Well I went to Mountain Lake looking forward to hearing you sing, but no Rick. Then the next week no Rick, and that's when I heard that you were in the hospital. Well now my focus shifted. I've haven't missed a week of church since going, I haven't missed a day of Bible reading since going, and I haven't missed a day of praying for you and your family.

Rick I pray to the Lord for your full recovery and I also pray for your family every night, because I know this has got to be hard, but I just want you to know that because of you, your God given talent, and the love of Mountain Lake Church I am a church going Christain once again and life is starting to feel complete again.

Thanks Rick and God Bless and heal you.

I believe in the promises of God and according to his word, Isaiah 53:5 states, (KJV) "He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes, we were healed." We as believers are reminded to keep God at his word. So, I'm reminding God of his word and his word shall not return unto me void, Isaiah 55:11. Please know that I am in agreement with you and I believe that God will do just what he said. Continue to be blessed and know that "All things are possible to he who believes."

Rick,
You are the very personification of His love for man on earth.

Know that our hearts are praying to the Lord for you, and for your family and caregivers - that His hand may guide theirs and comfort be in their hearts; for He is merciful and kind.

We pray today that you may be healed in every way, miraculous as it may be – that this is the will of God.

We ask this in Jesus’ name.

Dear Rick and Family,

We are still praying constantly for you all and for Rick’s specific needs. We pray that God will touch Rick’s brain and bring him back to us completely restored. We are thankful that even with his elevated Bilirubin levels that his liver continues to function and that his other organs haven’t been affected. We love you all. Going to War!

"Father in Heaven
Lord, may Your name be glorified
Above all others
Above all this world
Above everything else in our lives
For nothing else in all of this world matters
But to live our lives for You and You alone

May Your wonders never cease
May Your Spirit never leave
May we ever long to see Your face
When we’ve turned from You again
Oh how quickly we forget
May we be reminded of Your grace
May Your wonders never cease"

I will continue to kneel before the Father in that gap for Rick! His wonders truly never cease!!!

In spite of the ups and downs in Rick's condition I can see that lives are being touched and changed because of Rick. I am continuing to pray for you and look forward to the day I read that you are going home to plan a wedding. Our God is able to do all things in His time and according to His plans. Rick, my name is Tucker Greene and the only time that we have spent together is on the softball field. I played for Creekside agaianst you up at Central Park. As I Have been reading these blogs over the last few weeks, I have felt the urge to post a comment, but have not. Today is a new day, amd after reading your incredible progress report, I felt that a post of celebration was due. I have been praying, as we all have, for a miraculous healing from the Holy Spirit. The power of prayer is just that, powerful! I know that the Lord is working on you at this moment to heal one of his own. We will continue to pray day after day until this disease has no effect on your life. I would also encourage everyone that is praying for Rick, to not only pray , but to believe 100% in the prayer that they are offering. To fully believe that the Holy Spirit has all power over the situation, and that Satan has no stronghold over Rick or the disease.

Rick, we pray until you are healed! I'll look for you on the field brother!

Father, in the name of Jesus I thank you for showing me in your word that it is your will to heal Rick. I thank you for being the same yesterday today and forever just as you said in your word.
I acknowledge that this sickness is not of you and I line my thinking and my speaking up with what I see in your word. I decree that Rick is already healed by the stripes of Jesus and it is established in Rick today. By the Power and the Authority in the name of Jesus. I receive this now in Jesus name I pray. Amen

I invision Gods spirit flowing through you all. I also invision Gods spirit flowing through Ricks body healing every cell, every organ, every drop of blood, every platelet, every tissue, every everthing in his body. I pray for Gods spirit to touch and heal Rick, as I write this message to incourage you all.

I woke up several times again late last night and Rick is brought right to my mind, fell asleep praying for him. I think God is wanting me to interseed on his behalf, just like everyone else.

Thank you God, for stiring in me the desire to want to pray for Rick and his family. Thank you Lord, for using Rick to draw me closer to you. I never have more peace than when I am closer to you. Thank you for that gift! And what a gift it is......Amen

Thank you for the daily updates. My family and I are joining in the chorus of prayers being raised on behalf of Rick and his family. I only know Rick through Candi's voice and being a part of the body of Christ. But that is what is important---being in the body and sharing both the good and bad times knowing that ultimately Jesus works everything out for His glory and therefore, our good. It is apparent that Rick's life is already magnifying Jesus in untold ways.

And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have what we ask of Him." We are confident that it is God's will to heal you completely, so we count on that being done! Remember that the same power that raised Christ from the dead resides in you by His Spirit. May every cell of your body be restored to a state of divine health as the healing power of God saturates your entire being!
Love to all of you,
Rick, Leslie, Alan, Kyle, and Mandy Mykitta

Rick, Elaine and Billy:
Just wanted to remind you of the promise of Jeremiah 29:11 - for I KNOW the plans I have for you, sayeth the Lord; plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you HOPE and a FUTURE. Hold onto that promise and remind our Father of His promises - He loves for us to do that.
We are praying for Rick's FULL recovery and will pray specifically for the requests made known today. Elaine, you are constantly on my mind and I pray for God to give you the strength you need. He is MORE THAN ENOUGH!!

We love you!

Dear Family

Thanks for putting up with all my misspelled words when I write to you, not my strongest attribute. Sometimes I just get in a hurry and dont check, I just hit post. After I have posted I will come across one of mine and I will be horrified by my spelling. My words do come from the heart. (Envision) is what I ment to say. Have a good night!

Hey Rick,

I just read 1 Thessalonians 3:7-10 and it just made me think of you, Suzanne and your families.

Therefore, brothers in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith. For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord. How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you. Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again...

Gos is amazing in His plans for our lives.
"I will lead the blind by paths they do not know..." Isaiah 42:16
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans for hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
The statement "Be Still and KNOW That I AM GOD" Is amazing. I pray for Rick and His Family that they will have comfort knowing that our LORD, creator of HEAVEN and Earth, the man who breathed life into Rick, is in control of this very situation. I know that God is smiling down on the entire Pearson family for glorifying Him in this moment of hardship. At this moment, God is looking down upon you and saying, way to go, good and faithful servants. The thing to remember is that it's about finishing well. When Rick gets better, this whole situation, will have brought each person who's ever been a part of the Pearson family's life (friends, people who go to our church etc) closer to God. That is the whole point in suffering. We are broken to be drawn closer to our Father who is strong, in our weakness. This is God's time to shine... and one day in the future, the Lord will smile at each of you walking into the gates of heaven saying well Done, good and faithful servant. Till that day, I pray that you will continue to run the race, not to blend in with the crowd at a comfortable pace, but so as to win. You are an amazing Family and God's heart smiles at your faithfulness in prayer and petition over Rick's life!

He is the God of all things, and i continue to pray for Ricky's complete healing.
Ricky and you all are already such a testimony to what faith is. i have told so many people here in New York of your story. there are so many more people that you don't even know that are praying for his full recovery. How incredible is the body of Christ!

Rick and Pearsons,
My family and I go to Mtn. Lake and continue to pray for Rick and Ya'll. Phil 2:25-28 Paul had a sick buddy but was healed. Phil 2:27b says God had pity on him and on Paul and spared him an even greater sorrow. So we prayed that God would "pity" us at Mountain Lake and spare us by returning Rick!!!

Another day, another opportunity to bring glory to God! God bless and keep you through this day also. A song by Scott Krippayne has been running through my head for the past 2 or 3 days. I think God may have a message for someone other than just me in this song. It is called,"Sometimes He Calms the Storm."
All who sail the sea of faith
Find out before too long
How quickly blue skies can grow dark
And gentle winds grow strong
Suddenly fear is like white water
Pounding on the soul
Still we sail on knowing
That our Lord is in control

Sometimes He calms the storm
With a whispered peace be still
He can settle any sea
But it doesn't mean He will
Sometimes He holds us close
And lets the wind and waves go wild
Sometimes He calms the storm
And other times He calms His child

He has a reason for each trial
That we pass through in life
And though we're shaken
We cannot be pulled apart from Christ
No matter how the driving rain beats down
On those who hold to faith
A heart of trust will always
Be a quiet peaceful place

Defining Moments
As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.
Acts 9:3

* For Moses, it was the burning bush.
* For Peter, it was walking on water.
* For Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, it was walking through the burning furnace untouched.
* For Paul, it was being blinded and spoken to by Jesus on the Damascus road.
* For Daniel, it was deliverance from the lions' den.
* For Joshua, it was parting the Jordan River and crossing into the Promised Land.

There have been many defining moments in the lives of human beings that changed their lives forever. These defining moments often set the course for the balance of their lives.

We could go on and on. Each of these servants had years of preparation leading up to their defining moment. These moments forced the servants to be involved in something beyond their human experiences. It took them outside their own paradigms of life. God had to move them outside their own boxes. And when He did, their lives were never the same.

You may be in one of three stages of life: You may not have had your "defining moment" yet-God may be preparing you with many important life experiences. You may have had your defining moment and you are living out your call. Or, you may be toward the end of your journey and you have already experienced what I speak of.

We are all called to a relationship with God; and we are all called vocationally, which is often ushered in by a defining moment. And there can be more than one defining moment, each pointing you down a path that God foreordained from the foundation of the world. The secret of a great life is often a man's ability to discern the defining moments given to him, understanding them, and learning to walk in the path that leads him to his ultimate destination.

Once you have had a defining moment, you are never the same. Pray that you have eyes to see and ears to hear when your Master brings a defining moment into your life.

Hey Ricky,

Over the past couple of weeks I have asked countless people to pray that you'll have a speedy recovery. I received an email yesterday from my mother-in-law in Kentucky and would like to share it with you. The email is as follows:

Thanks for the encouraging report, Marsha.

I want to tell you something that may or may not have anything to do
with Ricky, but it is definitely worth mentioning.

Yesterday morning at church was phenomenal. We got caught up in worship, and the Lord began moving amongst the people. Bro. Bobby, our
pastor, as he was worshipping, was moved on by the spirit in a powerful way. Later, he shared four incidents he felt. One of those was that he
sensed a light going into the corner of his left eye-socket and went through his head, coming out the left side of his neck. He went on to say that he believed the Lord was healing someone with some sort of problem with the brain. He said that it was not a person in this church, but that we would be hearing about it, and encouraged us to report it back to him.

Let's just agree that the Lord touched your friend! Keep me posted.

Love,
Pam

What an awesome God we serve!!!!!!

Jesus, I pray that today be Your day. The day that Your glory be revealed, the day that every tongue confess that You alone are Lord. The day that Your miraculous, healing power be released into Ricks' body. The Hands that bore the nails for him, touch Rick. In Your word, Lord a story is told of a paralytic whose friends carry him to You be healed. It is written, that when You saw their faith, the man was healed. We, the faithful are lifting Rick to You now for that same healing touch, Lord. We trust in You, Lord and whatever Your will and purpose, draw us near to You, give us Your peace and help us to be strong. Teri

"We walk by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7

"These seven little words describe an entire way of life. To operate in faith instead of what we see calls for an inner conviction that God can be trusted to do what He says. When our health is uncertain, He’s our Physician. When we’re down to our last dime, He’s our Provider. When there’s no energy, He’s our Power. When the Enemy surrounds us, He’s our Protector. "--Women of Faith Devotion

This is in my devotion for today and I thought it would be appropriate for us. I am praying for you all!

Love and big squeezie hugs (we call them that at my house) coming your way!

Just to let you know that you are on the daily prayer list at our church here in Gadsden, Alabama. The 12th grade class had special prayer for you this past Sunday morning. As an RN, I can tell you that based on Rick's medical reports I have heard, this is a miracle in progress! God is merciful.

Dear Rick and Family,

I am clinging to this verse that I posted earlier:

I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be astounded. They will put their trust in the Lord. (Psalm 40:1-3)

I am praying for this daily. I love you all with all my heart. Gail

It is obvious that Rick is still fighting and so we will continue to fight by his side. We will not cease in our prayers and we will remain faithful to Rick and to his family. Rick's family and Suzanne are now our family. You all will never be alone no matter how long this journey. It is difficult to accept that we must wait on God and His perfect timing. We will continue to wait with you and continue to pray specifically and with conviction. We will show the world the power of prayer!!

Love you all so much. We are still praying. I know Ricky will sing and do even more for God's kingdom. I hope I will get the chance to hear him sing again. My favorite verse is Luke 1:37 For nothing is impossible with God.
