3:40PM Update

Friends,

Rick's surgery is complete and went well. Rick now has a shunt in his brain that is draining the fluid that exists there. Please continue to pray for Rick's health, but please also pray for Rick's immediate family, Billy, Elaine, Haley, Candi, Jonathan and Suzanne as they deal with the mountains of information provided them by the doctors and continue to remain prostrate before God begging for what we wish, but in the same breath, submitting to His will whatever that may be. More updates as we know anything...

PRAISE GOD for a successful surgery. I pray that God's hands will be on Rick's recovery of both the surgery, and of course, the entire ordeal. HE IS GOOD AND WILL BE GLORIFIED! God Bless you all!

First of all, I want to say a big thanks to Shannon and Jeffrey for keeping us all up to date on what's happening. If it wasn't for you two I would have gone crazy by now with worry. Secondly, I'm continuing to read my Bible and pray. I can't help but to pray that our will be God's will, and that if it isn't then for peace, love, and understanding.

We wanted you to know that we have submitted Rick's situation to the Prayer Chain that we have on The GraceNet and there are people praying around the world for all of you.

What comfort there is in knowing that no matter what God chooses to do in this situation, we have the hope of Romans 8:18. "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present world are not worthy to be compared to the glory that will be revealed in us"

Thank you Lord for your loving kindness and your word.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise him all creatures here below. Praise him above the heavenly hosts. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. We love you all. We will pray without ceasing. It is amazing how the Lord can bring together and bond those that we've never met. The Lord just gave this scripture to share with you today, Psalm 30:2-3 " O Lord my God, I cried out to your for help, and you restored my health. You brought me up from the grave, O Lord. You kept me from falling into the pit of death." WE will continue to pray knowing that the Lord hears and answers our prayers.

Hi, I'm a friend of Suzanne's! And I just wanted to let you know that we are praying for Rick, your family, and of course, Suzanne in Troy, AL--Troy University. Here's a great verse that I hope is encouraging!
"Why do you say, O Jacob, and complain O Israel, 'My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God?' Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary, and increases the power of the weak." Isaiah 40:27-29

And remember when you don't feel like you have enough faith to heal Rick, remember this: "If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself." 2 Tim 2:13

Please give Suzanne a big hug from me and tell her that I love her!! We are relentlessly praying!!!

Love, Leah Williams

Praise Jesus for a successful surgery!!! You guys are continually in my prayers and I pray that you feel the comfort, peace, and love of Christ surrounding you all in this trial. I sent out a prayer request to my local Emmaus community...they will be joining us in prayer as they too are prayer warriors. Thank you Jeff & Shannon for updating us...it is so nice to not have to wonder what is going on with Rick.

Rick, Suzanne and family,
Shawn and Tricia have kept us updated on your circumstances and illness as it has progressed. Our thoughts have been with you and you have all been lifted up in many prayers by a host of people and churches in Alabama. As parents, our heart aches for you; but as believers in Christ, we rejoice with you in your steadfast love and belief in God's will for Rick's life. Whatever tomorrow may bring for each of you, this scripture from Isaiah 26:3 speakes to all of us who have been saved by God's grace and who depends on His strenght and love to sustain us ..
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee". We continue to pray for that "perfect peace" for each of you.

Although Rick nor Candi know me, I (and my family) have been blessed by them and the voices God has given them during our membership at North Point Community Church. I found out about Rick's condition through an e-mail I received a couple of days ago, and have been praying since then (& contacting others to start prayer chains as well). My own little brother when he was 21 years old was in a life/death situation and in a deep coma for nearly 3 months, and I really do FEEL your pain, although I don't know any of you personally. (Shannon Scott actually knows him---Scotty Hunt). I do know from experience that God can and will give you an unexplainable amount of grace and peace, and that He will even provide others to pray for you and for Rick when you are too tired and don't know how or what to pray. You are surrounded by people lifting you all up and praying for a miracle for Rick---just know that!
My daughter was reading the words Rick sings on her UpStreet worship CD today (from the song "Even When", by Mike Gleason). I couldn't believe the timing.....

"I may not know what tomorrow holds for me
I may find that days ahead are hard for me
But I know that You are great oh Lord
And I know that You are good, so

Even when I don't understand
Even when I can't see Your plan
I will never cease to lift up my hands
And worship You, I worship You my God.

You're the strength for every struggle I may face
Help me Lord to live before You a life of praise
For I know that You are great oh Lord
And I know that You are good, so

I worship You my God
I worship You my God
Yes, I will worship You my God."

Praying for you,

Rick, Billy, Ms. Holk, Haley, Chandace, Jonathan and Suzanne,

My brother and I had went to school with Rick and Halie, Northview High. I found out Rick's condition through Mr. Ron Weinmann, he's church, First Assembly of God in Atmore AL, has been keeping him in their prayers list. For the last week, i have been letting people, back from highschool, know how Rick is and to keep him in their prayers. I thank you for having this site to keep us updated about his condition. I will continue to ask friends and families to keep Rick in their prayers. I believe in what prayers can do. God bless and take care.

Hi to all the family! I am so sorry to hear a Rick but I know that God is with him and will do everything in his power to help him. Mrs.Holk, I just adore you and we all miss you but you just hang in there and everything will be alright. Thats to all the family! Losing a family member is so hurtful but God is there with you the whole time holding your hand and rubbing you back telling you everything will be ok. I just love hearing Rick sing so he better get better and get out there and teach everyone about God's word. If yall need anything just let us know and Northview really supports you. We miss you and hope you are doing well. Hang in there its all going to work out! God Bless and take care!

Hey ya'll,
I'm still believing God with you for a healing miracle, and a quick one at that, so you won't have to keep watching him lay there and suffer.

The twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
"You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being.

Just thinking about Rick and you all again today--and praying. I know God is fully aware of Rick and each of you who love and care for him. Keep on fighting the good fight of faith. He continues to walk by your side and is meeting Rick's every need. God is being honored through your lives. Keep on Sisters and Brothers. We are standing with you in prayer. God's Spirit prompts us continually on your behalf.
